Charlene has been teaching dance and cheer throughout San Diego County for five years. She recently began her own recreational and after school dance and cheer program, Charlene's Dance N Cheer, sharing her experience and love of dance and cheer to children.

Charlene began dancing at the age of five in Ewa Beach, Hawaii, doing tap, ballet, cheer, and hula. When she moved back to San Diego, she focused on classical ballet, studying at New West Ballet Theatre under the direction of California Ballet Company alum, Eugenia Keefer, where she continues to perform and teach today. Highlighted roles with New West include the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella, the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland, the Dew Drop Fairy, Spanish Chocolate, Dancing Doll, and Merliton in the Nutcracker, and most recently, Odile in Swan Lake.

Charlene was a member of the Varsity cheer squad in high school and named UCA (United Cheerleader's Association) "All-Star." In college, she was a member of the California State University Women's Dance team. In 2008, Charlene had the opportunity to perform at Copley Symphony Hall with California Ballet Company and the San Diego Symphony for their Holiday Pops Concert.

Charlene earned her B.A. in Criminology and her M.A. in Sociology from California State University San Marcos. She has been teaching creative music and movement, Mommy and Me, cheerleading, jazz, hip-hop, ballet, tap, dance musical classes, and private lessons for the past five years. She feels very lucky to be able to do what she loves everyday and gains a sense of fulfillment from teaching others and spreading her love of dance and cheer.
